Clara F. Gadd, age 85 of Byesville, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 1, 1927 in Caldwell, a daughter of the late Jacob B. Phelps and Alice (Morris) Phelps.
She retired after 30 years from the State Hospital as a supervisor. She was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and spending time on her computer.
Surviving are: her children, Cynthia (Jerry) Teter of Cambridge, Buddy Charles (Micker) Gadd Sr. of Murfreesboro, TN, Thomas Jacob (Marcia) Gadd of San Diego, Janice (Bob) Nelson of Owosso, Mich., Denise (Thomas) Buchanan of Dandridge, TN, Patrick J. Gadd of Byesville, and Sharon (Rodney) Gibs of Columbus; sister, Pearl Egnot of Canal Fulton, a sister-in-law Marie McFarlane of Byesville, fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Walden Ray Gadd in August 2000; an infant son Wallace Gadd; son-in-law, Chuck Scott; two brothers, Bill Phelps and Enoch Phelps; and three sisters, Ruby Enos, Phoebe Larrick, and Ruth Ann Thompson.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm. The service will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Bundy-Law with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating.
