Charles D. Scott

Charles D. Scott 79, of Cambridge, Ohio passed away at 5:56 P.M. Saturday February 16, 2008 at the Victorian Oaks Assisted Living in Cambridge. He was born January 24, 1929 in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Carl Austin and Pearl W. Watkins Scott. Charles was a Funeral Director and was the former owner and operator of the Scott Funeral Home. Charles graduated from Cambridge High School in 1946, Muskingum College in 1950, and Cleveland College of Mortuary Science in 1951. Served in the US Army from 1953-1955, then came home after the death of his father, Carl A. Scott in 1955 to take over ownership of the Scott Funeral Home. He was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church,Eagles Lodge #386, Elks Lodge #448, VFW Post 2901, American Legion, Guernsey 632 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Alladin Shrine, Past President of the United Fund of Guernsey County, Board Chairman of Bank of Ohio Central National Bank, Board of the Old Citizens Savings Bank, YMCA board member, Member National Selected Morticians, Cambridge Country Club, Cambridge Tennis Team, 50 year member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, Past President Rotary Club, Managed Scott Funeral Home Little league team, Charles was a pilot and loved to fly and also was a avid golfer and had 2 hole in ones. Charles is survived by his wife, Martha K. Cunningham Scott whom he married on May 29, 1954, 2 Daughters, Cindy E. Rosatone and Kimberly Sue Kris Gibson both of Cambridge, Ohio a Son, Carl Austin Dorothy Scott of Westley Chapel, Florida, Brother, Attorney James R. Barbara Scott of Cambridge, 5 Grandchildren, Dustin Scott Harper, Krystal K. Gibson, Kendal Sue Gibson, Ashley Meredith Scott,Jarrett Mobelini Scott, 3 Great Grandchildren, Jaydan Lynn Gibson, Kristopher David Gibson, Austin Scott. Sister-in-law, Shirley L. Moore, 4 Nieces, Linda Lou Bob Jennings, Lana Jim Miser, Judy Edward Alexander, Beth Ann Mike Gilpin, Nephew, Frank Arnetta Moore Jr.,and he loved his 2 dogs: Duke and Scoobie Doo, and many friends at the Villages in Lady Lake, Florida where they resided for 7 years. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday Feb. 19, 2008 at Unity Presbyterian Church with Eagles services at 6:00 P.M., Funeral Services at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday Feb. 20, 2008 at Unity Presbyterian Church with Father Robert Borer officiating, Burial in Northwood Cemetery with Military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.Arrangements by son-in-law, Kris R.
