Harold H. Davis

Harold H. Davis, 83 of Cambridge, Ohio passed away Wednesday Nov. 21, 2007 at the S.E.O.R.M.C., he was born May 24, 1924 in Cambridge to the late Arthur and Ethel Nicholson Davis. Also preceeding him in death was 3 Brothers and 4 Sisters. Harold was a contractor for Harold H. Davis Construction Company, he was a member of 9th Street United Church for 60 years. He was a WWII veteran in the European Theater, 44th Infantry Division. Harold was emeritus member of the Guernsey Co. Senior Citizen Board, Past president Cambridge Country Club Board, Past board member Red Cross, American Legion, VFW Post 2901, DAV, Elks, Member and Past Board Kiwians, Past board member of Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, Volunteer at SEORMC, Started out in 1945 with Harry Hame Construction, 1958 joined his brother Calvin Davis as Vice-President of Davis Construction Co., Inc., in 1974 along with his wife Rose Ann formed the Harold H. Davis Construction Co., and Bulit several buildings including the Production Credit Assoc., Former Bank Ohio, Bank One, and the Daily Jeff, and many other commercial and industrial buildings. They retired their company on Nov. 30, 1987. Harold was a strong supporter of many civic and community organzations, Avid Bobcat, Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan. He is survived by his wife Rose Ann Shepard Davis, Son John A. Judy Davis, Daughter Cynthia Ann Russell Drake, 4 grandchildren: Russell A. Drake III, Benjamin A. Davis, Dr. Michael J. Davis, DruAnn Shawn Meek, 3 great grandchildren: Quentin,Alexander, Chance Meek, 4 Step Grandchildren, 10 Step great Grandchildren, 1 Step great great grandchild, Brother: William Davis, Sister-in-law: Margaret Stranathan, 2 Brother-in-laws: Arthur E. Dottie Shepard, J. William Peggy Shepard, Several Nieces and Nephews, Calling hours will be 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday Nov. 25, Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday Nov. 26 at the 9th Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Myers officiating Burial in Northwood Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to: 9th Street United Methodist Church Capital Fund or the Cambridge Guernsey County Senior Citizen Center.
