Irma B. Barringer-Fairchild

Irma B. Barringer-Fairchild, 82, of Cambridge was called home by her Lord and answered his call peacefully on April 23, 2012, with her family by her side. Mrs. Fairchild was born September 12, 1923 near Canfield, Ohio daughter of the late Dewey and Blanch (McKenzie) Barringer. She graduated from Canfield High School. Mrs. Fairchild had a heart of gold and was one of those persons who was everyone's friend. She had a passion for music and a beautiful alto voice. Gospel and Country were two of her greatest pleasures. On a regular basis for more than 30 years, she could be heard singing with the Fairchild Band in many rest homes of this area. Mrs. Fairchild worked along side her husband, Donald Fairchild, as a Dental Assistant for 24 years. When they retired she went to work at Riesbeck for another 8 years before retiring to stay home and care for her great granddaughter Paige Lagneaux Cooley until she began school. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fairchild was preceded to death by her first husband (James H. Stambaugh), her only son (Terry D. Stambaugh), her two sisters (Eloise Barringer Keck and Mildred Barringer Keck), and a brother (Merle Barringer). She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Rev. Donald W. Fairchild, her only daughter, Roxann (Scott) Stambaugh Waddell of Cambridge, Ohio her step daughters Debra K. Kinter of Louisiana and Deloris Ann (Craig) West of New Concord, Ohio her step sons Donald P. (Stephaine) Fairchild of Cambridge, Ohio, David A. (Joyce) Fairchild of Delaware, Ohio, Daniel E. (Tejuana) Fairchild of Groveport, Ohio and Douglas R. Fairchild of Cambridge, Ohio, along with 20 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Bundy-Law Funeral Home in Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at Center United Methodist Church in Center, Ohio, officiated by Rev. Virginia Geiger and Rev. David Mansperger 11:00 am on Thursday, April 26th.
