Carol E. Hayhurst Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carol E. Hayhurst, age 80, of Cambridge, OH passed away peacefully Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Cambridge Place. She was born on January 29, 1940 to the late Rudy Simmons and Freda Marie Henderson Simmons. Carol was retired from Muskingum University as secretary to the President, a member of The 9th Street United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Shenandoah Riding Club. Member of : National Secretarys Association, Cambridge Rubber Stamp Club, Cambridge Social Dance Club, All Ohio Horse Exhibition Association. Carol enjoyed many activities including: horse back riding, boating, snow skiing, square dancing, sewing, paper crafting, piano playing where she played at the Indian Camp Community Church for several years. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a sister Queen Esther Snyder. Carol is survived by her husband, James W. Hayhurst Sr. whom she married August 30, 1958. Three daughters: Alison M. (Doug) Hecker of Cambridge, OH, Hollie M. (Mark) Lashley of Cambridge, OH, Amy L. (Brian) Zuress of Byesville, OH. One son, James W. Hayhurst Jr. of Cambridge, OH. Two brothers, August Simmons of Columbus, OH and Bryce (Barbara) Simmons of Cambridge, OH. Nine grandchildren: Thomas Hecker, Robbie Hayhurst, Riley Hayhurst, Rusty Hayhurst, Dana Lashley, Kyle Lashley, Jesse Lashley, Zoe Zuress, Mike Zuress. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday December 5, 2020 from 1 pm. till 6 pm at The Ninth Street United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 6pm at the Church with Rev. Nancy Parsons officiating.
