Obituary

Ruth E. Sherman, age 87 of Cambridge, OH passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at The Morrison House in Zanesville, OH. Ruth was born November 8, 1925 in Zanesville, OH to the late Samuel C. Warner and Mary Catherine Lenhart Warner. Ruth was a school teacher teaching at: Pleasant City Schools, St. Clairsville Schools, Cambridge City Schools including Garfield and Park Elementary. A member of the Retired Teachers Association. Ruth taught school for nearly 30 years. She was a charter member of Giffin Park Church in St Clairsville, OH. Ruth will be remembered for her deep love of family and her desire to help students achieve their goals.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. Charles M. (Mary K.) Lenhart. Dr. Lenhart practiced medicine and surgery in Zanesville. Great grandparents, T.J. (Mary Catherine) Frazier. T.J. was a Civil Engineer for the B & O Railroad and one of the founders of The Mosaic Tile Company in Zanesville, OH. A sister-in-law Alma Bryen. A brother-in-law James Bryen. A nephew Mark Warner.
Survived by her husband Richard D. Sherman whom she married December 20, 1944. One son Rick D. (Jane) Sherman of Cambridge, OH. One brother, Robert (Janice) Warner of Cambridge, OH. A granddaughter, Rebekah Ruth (Joel) Sherman Stevens of Columbus, OH. One neice Cathy Stein. One nephew, Scott Warner. Seven great nephews: Ashley Parks, Samuel Parks, Tyler Parks, Jacob Yakubik, Ben Warner, Blake Warner, Branden Warner. Two cousins, David Foreman and Tom Foreman. The mother of her granddaughter Rebekah, Ginger Sherman.
Services were held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home and burial was in Northwood Cemetery with Bill Yavelak officiating.
