Sylvia J. McCauley Brines, age 90 of Cambridge, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Beckett House in New Concord. She was born on October 14, 1934 in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Willard C. McCauley and Hazel R. (Dyer) McCauley.
Mrs. Brines was a member of Beckett Avenue United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and had been a Red Cross volunteer with over 5000 hours of service. Sylvia had worked at AT&T for 18 years and then as a self employed Child Navevy after that.
Sylvia is preceded in death by: her husband James C. Brines on January 19, 2022; her daughter Denise K. Brines on August 11, 2023;three brothers, Earl, Willard & Jack McCauley; and three sisters, Patricia Fair, Betty R. Grubbs and Eileen Wharton.
Surviving are: her son Jeffrey C. (& wife Sandra) Brines of Denver Colorado; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Gina; and many cousins; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10am to 11 am with services to begin at 11 am. Pastor Mark Slay will officiate with burial to follow in Northwood Cemetery. Sylvia's online guest book may be viewed and signed at www.bundy-lawfuneralhome.com .
