Ada P. Lingle passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 4, 2022 at the spritely age of 99. The loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and cousin is the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Turner) White of Cambridge, OH.
Throughout her life you could always find her caring for anyone and everyone. She wouldn't let you leave her house empty-handed or with an empty belly. Whether it be filling your hands with Tupperware full of her famous cookies or taking home leftovers of her sought after "Ada Potadas'' and potato salad (except for Peggy's family that didn't like the potato salad). She always made sure you were full.
Her caring nature was apparent early when she would work outside on the White family farm, taking care of the crops and animals. Her first real job was taking care of the president of Muskingum College's daughter Molly Montgomery. She then spent time working for the Gross family at the Gross Mansion in Cambridge. She was able to retire as a nurse's aide at the original Cambridge Health Center where her compassion and caring nature were felt throughout.
After retiring, she was able to go and travel all around America with her family, even facing her fear of the ocean by taking an Alaskan cruise! Many trips were taken with her daughters, sisters and cousins down to see the Cincinnati Reds play.
Even in retirement she never stopped taking care of people. She was always ready to babysit anyone at the drop of a hat. Your time over at Nanny's was always filled with laughs, walks, stories, and of course cookies.
Her love, compassion, and humor still lives on through her stories, recipes, and "Adie-isms".
