Andrew Ronald "Ron" Roby, age 87 of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 10, 1934 in Cambridge, a son of the late Andrew Roby and Viola May (Archer) Thompson.
Mr. Roby was a 1952 graduate of Cambridge High School. He had worked in retail at J.C. Penney's in Cambridge and later on at Sears in Columbus where he retired. He was a member and cantor at Christ Our Light Parish and a member of the Cambridge City Band. Ron enjoyed golfing, playing his saxophone, singing and was a "professional" photographer, but most of all he loved his family.
Ron is preceded in death by: his parents; his 1st wife Donna Lou (Dutton) Roby and 2nd wife Freda (Seymour) Wickline Roby; a son Kevin Roby; a sister Carolyn Thompson; a brother Mark Roby; a grandson Jason Gervais; and daughter-in-laws, Barbara Roby and Connie Roby.
He is survived by: his children, David (LaDonna Haley) Roby, Richard (Cindy) Roby, Cynthia (Dale) Gervais, Cheryl (Tim) Back and Phillip (Stacy) Roby; siblings, Lloyd Thompson, Michael (Chris) Roby, John (Susan) Roby and Joann Robinson; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 3 to 6 pm. The funeral mass will take place at Christ Our Light Parish on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 12 noon with visitation an hour prior. Father Paul Hrezo will officiate with burial to follow in Northwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
