Beatrice "Betty" Davis, 86 went home to the Lord on July 29, 2024 at her home, blessed by the support of family and friends. She was born April 26, 1938 in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Jewett and Jeanette Gray.
She graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1956. She was Miss Cambridge, May Queen and attended Girls State. She was swept off her feet by a handsome Marine, the late "Big Bill" Davis who she married in 1956 and shared 60 fun and wonderful years together.
Betty spent 30 years in the banking industry as a savings counselor for Cambridge Savings and Loan and Advantage Bank. She was loved by her co-workers and customers and she served as the decoration in the front window of the branch on main street for many years.
Betty enjoyed golfing, reading, traveling with Bill and her family, shopping with her daughters and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was 3rd in the line of 7 children and shared a special closeness with her family and her friends. She volunteered for Cambridge Glass and Dicken's Victorian Village, and enjoyed dressing up in Victorian clothing for the Chocolate Walk for many years.
She was an inspiration to many with her dignity and grace and considered her three daughters her best friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, "Big Bill"; her daughter Diane "Sue" Warden; and her brothers, Robert and David Gray.
She leaves behind: two loving daughters, Denise (Fred) McBride of Cambridge and Donna (Dan) Adair of Gahanna; a son-in-law Steve Warden of Cambridge; seven grandchildren, Hilarie (Dan) Delik, Sarah McBride, Anna (Andrew) Brantley, Gavin (Rachel) Warden, Duke Adair, Isaac (Natalie) Warden and Spencer (Claire) Warden; great grandchildren, Dominic Delik, Kane, Barrett and Bodhi Warden and Savannah Brantley; sisters, Lenora Douglas, Juanita (Gene) Savage, Kathy (Jim) Gibson and brother Len (Shelly) Gray; sister-in-laws, Paula Gray and Debbie Gray; and many beloved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and her special friend and care giver, Cathy Lingafelter.
Memorial visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 2 to 6 pm with a service to begin at 6 pm. Pastor Jim Gibson will officiate, burial will take place at a later date in Northwood Cemetery. Special thanks to everyone from Hospice of Guernsey County for their kindness and support.
