Obituary

Betty Louise Channell, age 91 of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 peacefully in her sleep, at home. She was born in Indiana on October 23, 1932, a daughter of the late David Goodwin and Hester (Houser) Goodwin - Boswell.
Mrs. Channell was a Teacher and a homemaker. She was a very active member of the Ninth Street United Methodist Church and on several committees. She was a charter member of the Cambridge Lioness Club and held many offices including president. She was also a member of the Ohio Eastern Star. Betty enjoyed reading, fishing and traveling. She was mom to everybody and loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are: a daughter Christine Perry of Cambridge; two sons, William Steven Channell (Kathaleen Soter) of Cambridge and Douglas Paul (Glady) Channell of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Carrie (Travis) Breeden, Paul (Brandi) Channell, Steven Channell and Sarah (Michael) Morris; two step grandchildren, Christie Cole and Jessica Asti; 20 great grand children; siblings, Mary (Tom) Womack, David Goodwin and Larry (Bev) Goodwin; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her husband of 68 years, William E. Channell on November 25, 2020; her parents; an infant son Charles; a son-in-law Joseph "Red" Perry; a daughter-in-law Kathy Channell; a sister Shelva Gilliland; and a brother Richard Goodwin.
