Betty Wimer (89) of Cambridge passed away (Tuesday, September 19, 2023) at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights. She was born January 12, 1934 in Monroe County, the daughter of the late Okey and Marie (Merckle) Leasure.
Betty was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was a 1952 graduate of New Matamoras High School and a 1955 graduate of Cambridge Business College. She was a member of the VFW 2901 Cambridge, and a member of the Cambridge Eagles.
Her siblings, Clifford Leasure, Elisa, Charles (Jack) and Clarence Leasure were from the Monroe County area.
She is survived by: son Jon Jay and wife Lori Wimer of Seven Hills, Ohio; a granddaughter Heather Wimer of Olmstead Falls; a grandson Jon Wimer of Sagamore Hills; and a great grandson Jack Wimer.
Betty worked at Midtown News, and retired from TW Metals. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her many friends.
Graveside services will be held at Northwood Cemetery chapel / mausoleum on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 11:30 am with Pastor Nancy Parsons officiating. Betty's online guest book may be viewed and signed at http://www.bundy-lawfuneralhome.com .
