Brent L. Doutt, 64, passed away at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center on January 17, 2025 after a very long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Brent was a member of Pisgah Church of Christ until it closed, and most recently a member of New Concord Church of Christ. He was a quiet man of strong convictions.
Brent worked over 26 years at TW Metals. He volunteered and dedicated many, many hours to coach youth teams in basketball, baseball and softball. He was a talented athlete in his high school days, playing baseball, golf, and was a member of the 1978 Buckeye Trail Basketball team that made it to Regionals. After his physical health declined, he loved to watch anything involving sports and he could rattle off sports trivia with the best of them.
Brent is survived by his one and only love, his wife of 45 years, Kathy J. (Bates) Doutt, his son, Justin (Julie) Doutt, and his daughter, Erin (Eric) Davis along with his grandchildren, Hayden, Marshall and Rayna. In addition, his siblings, Tom (Nancy) Doutt, Gordon (Cheryl) Doutt, Colleen (Brent) Wheatley, Dennis Doutt, Connie Doutt, Kent (Karen) Doutt and many nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Wilma Doutt and his in-laws, Everett and Alma Lea Bates.
Calling hours will be held at Bundy Law Funeral home on January 20, 2025 from 11 am to1 pm, with the funeral service directly thereafter at 1 pm. Terry Townsend will officiate with burial to follow in Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Concord Church of Christ at 13333 Maple Ln, New Concord, OH 43762.
