Canoga Park, CA-Carol Ellen (Smith) Brent, 84, passed away on March 9, 2019 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Woodland Hills, CA with her husband Jack Brent by her side.
Carol was born November 8, 1934, in Cambridge, Ohio and was the daughter of Andrew and Opal (Shimp) Smith. Carol grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1952. She attended Kent State University and The Ohio State University, where she graduated in Business in 1956. Carol went onto become a TWA Flight Attendant in 1957. It was while being a Flight Attendant she moved to Los Angeles, CA and married Jack Brent on February 18, 1967. She retired from TWA in 1991. Carol was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Cambridge and of Canoga Park Presbyterian Church, Canoga Park, CA. Carol enjoyed being with her family, traveling, spending time in Cambridge visiting family and friends. She was an avid LA Dodgers baseball fan and loved to attend games with Jack. She also would spend every football season watching and routing for The OSU Buckeyes. She will always be remembered as loving, patient and truly kindhearted. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Jack S. Brent; her three children Kyle Brent of Missoula, MT, Kevin Brent of Canoga Park, CA and Jill (John) Carlyon of Chandler, AZ; three grandchildren, Jack, Lucy and Grace Carlyon of Chandler, AZ.
Funeral services will be held at Unity Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10 am. Pastor Jeff Bergeson will officiate the service with entombment to follow in Northwood Cemetery. Carol's online tribute wall may be viewed and signed at www.bundy-lawfuneralhome.com .
