Carol LaVaughn Mitchell White, age 92 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 20, 1930 in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Carl and Aurea (Neff) Mitchell.
Mrs. White was a 1948 graduate of Cambridge High School. In 1948 she married William H. "Bill" White. She was a member of East Union Presbyterian Church and had been a past elder. Carol spent over 37 years on the election board. She was a Farm Bureau member; a Past Grand Representative of the Ohio Eastern Star where she had been treasurer for 20 years; Worthy Matron; and Ambassador.
Carol loved spending time with her family and friends and Eastern Star. She also enjoyed her time on the farm and with the animals.
Carol is preceded in death by: her husband William H. "Bill" White on February 28, 1981; an infant daughter Carolyn Louise; a son William H. "Billy" White Jr. 2009; son in law Doug DeLong; sister Constance Power; and numerous other brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law; and several nieces, nephews and grandson.
Surviving are: children, Tom (Sandy) White, Michelle Thompson, Rhonda DeLong, Beth Ann Wilson, and Andy (Theresa) White; grandchildren, William H. White III, Katie White, James (Kelli) Wick, Kristie Kern, Heidi (Sam)Thompson, Heather (Bob) McArthur, Andrea (Gary) Nickell, Rachelle Leonard, JoDee (Justin) DeMond, J. (Kelsey) Kane, Stephanie (Nathan) Longo, Olivia Wilson, Brett (Chelsea) Wilson, Courtney (Chase) Dennis, Tori (Ronnie) Barker, Sarah White; 31 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm with Eastern Star services beginning at 7pm. Her funeral service will be held at East Union Presbyterian Church on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 11:30am with visitation one hour prior beginning at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Union Church building fund, or to the Ohio Eastern Star. Services will be officiated by Ronnie Barker.
