Charles R. "Dick" Roller age 90 of Cambridge, passed away on April 22, 2019 at his home, with family by his side. He was a son of the late Harry W. and Elsie M. Roller. He graduated from Cambridge High School and Muskingum College.
Dick worked several years at the former Andrews Lumber Company and the Cambridge Lumber Company. He later joined WHIZ AM-FM- TV in sales and retired from there after 27 years. He loved animals and was a good friend of wildlife. His devotion to all animals both domestic and wild is well known.
For many years he enjoyed tending his home orchard. He was a member of Cambridge Kiwanis Club since 1953. Also a member of the former West Minster Church, where he served as deacon, trustee and elder. He also belonged to the National Wildlife Federation and Defenders of Wildlife and his home has been declared a national wildlife habitat.
He is survived by: one son Scott (Tracy) Roller of Cambridge; a brother Hugh "Bill" Roller; grandsons, Seth (Ciera) Roller and Harrison Roller, granddaughter Alyssia Andrews; four great grandchildren, Mason, Landon, Kyzer and Bryson; and nieces and nephews Tim Roller, Mary Beth Wells, Abby Davis, Rachel Roller and Hugh Roller Jr.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; and his wife of 64 years Kathleen D. (Denny) Roller on September 29, 2018.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 4 to 8 pm. His service will be on Friday, at 11 am also at Bundy-Law. Pastor Randolph White will officiate the service with burial to follow in Northwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Guernsey County, Pound Partners of Guernsey County or the Guernsey County Cancer Society.
