Charles Robert Shaw, 96, of San Diego, California passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was born August 15, 1926 in Kimbolton, Ohio, to the late Charles and Olive (McKim) Shaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Shaw. Robert was a graduate of Cambridge High School (Class of 1944). Bob was happily married to Fay (Stoffer) Shaw in 1948 who preceded him in death. A WWII veteran, Bob served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater with the Luzon Prisoner of War Camp No. 1 following the liberation of the Philippine Islands. He was a Past Master of Crossroads Lodge #696 F&AM San Diego and held membership in Scottish Rite ~ Valley of San Diego, Al Bahr Shrine, and the Order of Eastern Star, Park Chapter No. 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following his retirement from the construction industry, Bob enjoyed 23 years of volunteer service with Shriners Hospital for Children in Los Angeles. Bob is survived by two daughters, Darlene and Genell. Family and friends may call from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Masonic Services will be held at 12:45 with the Funeral Service at 1 pm at Bundy-Law Funeral Home 120 N. 11th Street, Cambridge. Jeff Jeney will officiate the service with burial to follow at North Salem Community Cemetery, Military Graveside Rites conducted by The Guernsey County Veterans Council.
