David L. Markley 89 of Cambridge, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022 at Altercare of Cambridge. He was born on December 7, 1932 at home, to his parents, Francis McKinley Markley and Leota (Seibert) Markley.
David worked many years and was partners with his brother Francis at Markley Services Inc. at the corner of 6th and Steubenville Avenue until he retired due to health reasons.
David was the youngest of seven siblings. He was just eight years old when his parents passed away. His eldest brother Francis and his wife Eileen kept all the siblings together and raised then until they were married and on their own.
David was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-nine year, Mary F. Markley on October the 7th, 2021. She was the love of his life. Also preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers, Jim and Francis; and his sisters, Betty, Marge and Elaine.
Surviving are: his sister Marilyn McKim; his children, daughter Betsy and Sam Petracca; his son Phillip Markley; his grandchildren, Chelsie and Steven Gooding, Tyler Markley, Trever and Alyssa Markley; and his great grandchildren, Beckham, Indie and Ryan Markley; and many nieces and nephews.
David was a people person and loved his family and friends. He also had the best neighbors over the years and made ever lasting friendships with them.
David was a member of the Elks for over sixty years. He was also a 54 year member of the Guernsey # 66 F&AM and a 37 year member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Cambridge.
