Deborah Louise Roller, 53, of Cambridge died peacefully at home on Friday, February 24th, 2017, after a long illness. She was born May 4th, 1963, in Weirton, WV to William and Harriet Eckles. A 1981 graduate of St. Clairsville High School, she enjoyed employment as a manager of Elby's Restaurants for some years. On December 2nd, 1989 Debbie married Hugh (Bill) Roller Sr. and began their wonderful 27 years together. The couple raised three children and never was there a dull moment. Debbie loved life and people. If you knew her you knew she would do good for anyone. Her thoughtfulness was second-nature and admired by everyone she met. Debbie had a well-known sense of humor and still made her family and friends laugh right up to the end. She had passion for gardening, reading, holiday traditions, and never cooked a bad meal. Her friends and family looked forward to her creative and elaborate Halloween costumes every year which maybe you saw if you frequented the Courtside Deli where she cooked for many years. Even if she didn't know your name she knew what you ate for lunch and was happy to make it for you. Debbie was the kind of person who lived her life by each day and was genuinely content. She will be deeply missed by those close to her.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father; step-father, Jon Hawthorne; and brother, Todd Eckles. She is survived by her husband, Hugh W. Roller, daughters, Abby (Josh) Davis, and Rachel Roller; son, Hugh Roller Jr.; two grandsons, Keaton and Henry Davis; mother, Harriet Hawthorne; brother, Rodney Eckles; step-sisters, Julianne (Stan) Szymialis, and Theresa (Chuck) Wortman; step-brother, Jonathan (Natalie) Hawthorne; and step-mother Trish Eckles.
Calling hours will be held at Bundy Law Funeral Home in Cambridge on Monday, February 27th, from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., and again on Tuesday, February 28th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service to follow.
