Delbert Eugene Snell, age 89, of Cambridge, OH went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Saturday December 31, 2022 at Cambridge Place. Delbert was born November 19, 1933 to the late Bert F. Snell and Anna (Savage) Snell in Knox Township, Guernsey County. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the US Air Force after 20 years of service. Delbert was serving in The Air Force during the Korean War where he had 2 tours in Japan and 1 tour in Turkey, Greece and Alaska. He later retired a second time from the US Postal Service where he worked as a Distribution Clerk. He was a member of The Air Force Sergeants Association. Delbert was an avid southern gospel singer, songwriter and guitar player. He performed locally for many groups, organizations and Nursing Homes. His passion was sharing his love for the Lord through his music.
Along with his parents Delbert is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Hardy) Snell whom he married November 19, 1954. Two brothers, Homer Snell and Vernon Snell. Two sisters, Ella Durben and Lula. One grandchild, Abigail Denise Snell.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Kay (Doug) Wilkinson of Burlington, NC. Two sons, Dennis Eugene (Barb) Snell of New Concord, OH and David Snell of Cambridge, OH. Fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Delbert is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home and again from 10 to 11 am Thursday at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Harper officiating. Burial will be in Otsego Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by The Guernsey County Veterans Council.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Solid Rock Wesleyan Church where he attended or Hospice of Guernsey.
