Dock Elliott Kennedy, 79, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, at his home after a battle with esophageal cancer surrounded by his family. He fought a long hard battle to stay with them, but the Lord had his plans.
A son of the late Richard and late Lizzie Kennedy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nina (Nixon) Kennedy. Beloved father of Tina (Ricky) McDaniel, Dreama (Colin) Primer, and Keith (Kimberly) Kennedy; Pawpaw of Josh McDaniel, Keith R. (Sanja) Kennedy, Jeremy (Jennifer) McDaniel, Tre Nowak, Meghan (Troy) Washington, Emily Kennedy, Hannah Kennedy, and Hayley Primer; great grandfather of ten great-grandchildren. Brother of Barabara (the late Fred) Chafin, the late Bonnie Kennedy, Tom Kennedy, the late Linda Fredrick, Brenda Guy, the late Kathy Kennedy, Carol Star (Jerry) Farley, and Denise Kennedy. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Dock was a very dedicated worker. He worked and retired from Cargill Salt in Cleveland, OH after 40 years of service. He was a very loving husband and loved his children and grandbabies. Dock was always open and welcoming to everyone he encountered, generously sharing his warmth wherever he went. A devoted family man, he consistently placed his loved ones above all else, ensuring their needs were always met was priority in his life. He was a devout follower of Christ, and was never afraid to share what he believed. He loved his church and church family at Salt Fork Baptist Church.
