Doris M. Baird, age 84 of Old Washington, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 28, 1927 in Old Washington, a daughter of the late Emmett William Hill and Mabel Beatrice (Porter) Hill.

Mrs Baird was a graduate of Old Washington High School class of 1945 and a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was a 4-H Advisor for several years in the Old Washington area, a Sunday School Teacher, and a Foster Parent for many years for many children. Doris retired from the Shennandoah Truck Stop as a cashier, she also worked at RCA and NCR. She was an avid seamstress and gardener who loved search words and jigsaw puzzles.

Doris was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Raymond Forrest Baird in 2002; and a brother, Marion Hill.

She leaves; a daughter, Patricia (Bill) Henderson of Lima; a foster daughter, Cindy Hunter of Cambridge; two sons, Raymond Junior (Penny) Baird of IN, and James W. (Rita LaFever) Baird of Lore City; four grandchildren, D.V.M. Amanda (Tim) Parish, Krisa Baird -Clark, Rae Anne Baird - Pryjda, and Jetta Rae Baird; one step granddaughter, Mica Nash; one foster granddaughter, Chelsey Caldwell; two grandsons, Lee (Raina) Henderson, and Jerid (Grace Gardner) Baird; eight great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services were held by the family at Old Washington Cemetery with Rev. Keith Peachy. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
