Dorothy L. Ames, age 93 of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 2, 1930 in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Frank Kirkman and Dorothea Opal (Thatcher) Kirkman.
Mrs. Ames was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Wales, Florida. She had worked as an inspector at Escot Industry in Florida until 1992. Dorothy was a member of the V.F.W. and Guernsey County Senior Center. She enjoyed reading the Bible, OSU football, knitting, crocheting, playing euchre, Facebook and cooking.
Dorothy is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Raymond "Ray" Ames in 2005; a step- son Ronald Ames; four sisters, Mary Lewis, Janet Brokaw, Carol Johnson and Donna Jean Deren; and three brothers, Erman "Bob" Kirkman, Robert Jake Kirkman and Jerry Kirkman.
Surviving are: daughters, Marie (& Paul) Moorehead of Naples, FL and Debbie (Cliff) Morse of Senecaville; a step-daughter Debra Kreutzinger of Thousand Oaks, CA; a granddaughter Jennifer Gesualdi; two great grandchildren, Michael and Heather Gesualdi and a step grandson Cale Morse and step granddaughter Rhonda (& Eric) Kozlowski; and many nieces and nephews and her fur babies Millie and Zz.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm with the service to begin at 1 pm. Pastor Jon Lobos will officiate with burial to follow in Guernsey Memory Gardens. Dorothy's online guest book may be viewed and signed at www.bundy-lawfuneralhome.com .
