Edward J. Hamersley, age 58 of Byesville, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. He was born in Coshocton on September 18, 1954, a son of the late Paul E. Hamersley and Lena B. (Hayes) Hamersley.
Mr. Hamersley worked at N.C.R. and Consolidation Coal before driving truck for Schneider Transport for over 20 years and earning a Million Mile Safe Driving Award. He most recently worked at LMI Custom Mixing. He was a member of the Cambridge Eagles #386 and Moose #631 and member of the Cambridge Browns Backers. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, a very good bowler with several 800 series and 300 games, he enjoyed golfing and routing for Tony Stewart in NASCAR.
Edward is survived by: his wife Debra J. (Mewha) Hamersley whom he married on November 9, 1974; their three sons, Michael J. (Shannon) Hamersley of Byesville, Jeffery P. Hamersley of Kimbolton and Joseph E. (Andrea) Hamersley of Senecaville; sister Joyce (Clyde) Warren of Lacento, FL; and brother Richard (Cheryl) Hamersley of Ohio; grandchildren, Ashton, Levi, Hannah, Brooklynne, Mikey, Sydnie and Paisley and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bundy-Law Funeral Home. Private services will take place at a later date.
