Edwin B. Wagstaff, age 84 of Old Washington passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on October 14, 1938, a son of the late Harold Wagstaff and Vivian (Swartz) Wagstaff.
Mr. Wagstaff was a 1957 graduate of Cambridge High School. He was a bus driver for Cambridge City Schools along with working at the Cambridge State Hospital as a supervisor for 30 years. Ed drove gas tanker for Hartley Oil and was and Old Washington councilman for many years. He was Mayor of Old Washington for a short term and a member of the Ohio National Road Association and the Ohio Archaeological Society. He was a sign maker, carving signs by hand, including Kennedy's Bakery, Bonton Studio and the Old Junior High School to name a few. Ed was a handyman and enjoyed remodeling his 1830 home. In his spare time he loved collecting arrowheads and was caretaker of the Old Washington Cemetery.
Ed is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Linda A. (Christian) Wagstaff; their children, Rebecca "Becky" Wagstaff of Zanesville, William "Bill" (& Roxanne) Wagstaff of Cambridge, Edwin B. "Bud" (& Aimee) Wagstaff Jr. of Westerville; grandchildren, Christopher (& Jennifer) Wagstaff, Cale (& Jackie) Wagstaff and Cassandra Wagstaff all of Cambridge, Evan Wagstaff of Cleveland, and Patrick Wagstaff of Columbus; great grandchildren, Qwen Wagstaff, Rylee Wagstaff, Gracie Wagstaff, Annie Wagstaff, William "Will" Wagstaff and Nolan Wagstaff; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; and siblings, Richard Wagstaff and Emilie Riley.
Memorial visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 4 :30 pm to 7 pm. A memorial service will begin at 7 pm officiated by Pastor Wes Jones.
