Eric Michael McCauley passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2024. He graduated from Cambridge HS in 1995 and then from the Ohio State University with a major in Pre-Vet Animal Science. After college he worked for Shelley and Sands for around 12 years. When his son Carter was born he began working closer to home at Encore / Blue Scope. Eric enjoyed his many work friends.
Eric was an exceptional husband, father and son. He was so proud of his family. He drove his family to countless steer / heifer shows doing what he loved, showing cattle. Eric was a huge Buckeye fan. Eric was our number one supporter, our biggest cheerleader, our protector. He was our rock.
Eric was a man of few words, but when he spoke people listened. He was the voice of reason for many. Eric was witty and always has a good comeback. He was a hard worker and always had something to do outside. He would be working with cattle, farming or getting ready for a show. His summers were spent with his family in the barn, cooler room. Carter and Eric had a smooth schedule. Through the cattle industry, over the last 40 years, Eric has made many lifelong friendships that he charished.
Eric's faith has always been a huge part of his life. He was so happy he found New Pointe. Even if he worked, we made sure we watched the service together. Eric grew up in church and always wanted his family to do the same. His son Carter, loves the Lord and Eric was so proud of that. There were many conversations between Carter and Eric that included points and values from the Bible.
Eric is survived by his wife of 20 years Karie (Hall) McCauley; son Carter McCauley; parents Mike R. and Vickie (Kavulich) McCauley; his grandmother Barbara Sipe; his brother Matt (& Leigh) McCauley; nephews, Chase and Cash McCauley; mother-and father-in law Chris and Diana Hall; a brother in law Christopher and (& Andrea) Hall; nephew Paxton Hall; grandparents in law Larry and Teddy Ball; uncle Steve (& Pam) McCauley; and many cousins and aunts and uncles.
