Esther G. Hines, age 90, of Kimbolton, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026.
She was born May 7, 1935, in Guernsey County, a daughter of the late Pirl L. Orr and Cloma (Tedrick) Orr.
Esther was a faithful member of Birmingham Global Methodist Church. Throughout her working years, she was employed by the local post office, the township, RCA, and Columbia Gas. A woman of service, she also volunteered her time with Hospice. In her quieter moments, Esther found joy in gardening and canning, sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends.
On July 17, 1954, Esther married the love of her life, Robert G. Hines, and together they shared 71 years of marriage. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; four sons, Rodney Lee (Sue) Hines of Lore City, Ricky Dean (Pattie) Hines of North Canton, Robert Randall (Marla) Hines of North Lawrence, and Richard Russell Hines of Kimbolton; a sister, Ruth Nelson of Kimbolton; grandchildren, Amanda Hines (Darin Willis), Ashley Gray, Jamie (Matt) Rominger, Cody Hines, Jason Zimmerman, Chad Zimmerman, and Kyle (Elizabeth) Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Cloma and Lillian, Connor, Easton, and Kylie, Gauge and Owen; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Orr, and a sister, Patricia Cook.
Visitation will be held at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastors Craig Murray and Phil Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Clearfork Cemetery.
