Esther Pauline Long Ruby, age 85 formerly of Cambridge, passed away, Friday, June 10, 2011 at Coshocton Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 23, 1926 in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Fred Moose and Hazel (McConkey) Moose.
Mrs. Ruby was a member of Stop Nine Church of Christ. She worked at Cambridge Glass, Ceramic Tile, Byesville Senior Center and retired from Cambridge State Hospital.
She loved; children, playing bingo and Gospel music by Chestnut Ridge
Esther is preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, Clifford Eugene Long in 1977 and her second husband, Torrence Sims Ruby in 1991; three brothers, Russell, Fred "Bud", and Roger Moose; a sister, Bertha Link; and a grandson, Clifford E. Long;
Mrs. Long is survived by: a son, Robert Eugene Long of Cleveland; two sisters, Nora Tolbert of New Philadelphia, and Doris June Able of Cambridge; a brother, Leroy (Peg) Moose of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Robert E. Long Jr. of Cleveland, and Jeremy J. "J.J." Seymour of Coshocton; many nieces, nephews,and great nieces and nephews; including a special niece, Betty Jean Blevins of Lancaster; and her caretaker, Patty (Terry) Seymour of Coshocton.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 14 from 5 to 8 pm at Bundy-Law Funeral Home. The service will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 11 am with Evang. Mark Beros officiating. Burial will follow in Guernsey Memory Gardens.
