Faye Marie Hayes, age 89 of Salesville, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. She was born in Salesville at home, daughter of the late Clyde D. Burson and Ardith M. (Law) Burson.
Mrs. Hayes was a seamstress and a homemaker and worked on the farm. She had worked at Fred Raymonds in Cambridge for several years also. Faye was an active member of the Salesville Church of Faith and had been their pianist and treasurer for many years. She was also a pianist at Salem Baptist Church. Faye had grown up there and met her husband of over 72 years in that church. She was a member of the Gibson Homemakers. She was well known for making scrubbies for the church and her friends. She enjoyed making quilts and doing puzzles and mystery games on her iPad. Faye had a routine of checking her morning emails and keeping tabs on the kids and grandkids. They had a family pizza night every Saturday night for over 40 years.
Surviving are: her husband Richard R. Hayes; her children, Linda Marie (Mike) Davis of Salesville, Virl (Judith Jones-Hayes) Hayes of Old Washington, Lisa (Robert) Kahrig of Salesville and Lori (Mark) Mayberry of Cambridge; grandchildren, Matthew (Michele) Davis, Keith Davis, Benjamin (Claire Allen) Jones-Hayes, Sarah (Abhinav Rao) Jones-Rao, James C. Jones-Hayes, Doug (Nikki) Kahrig, Dustin Kahrig, Krista Faye (Cody) Burkhart, Jadreanna Kahrig; a granddaughter-in-law Jeannie Davis; great grandchildren, Emma Davis and Andy Davis, step great granddaughter Layla Karam, Riley Davis, Barrett Davis, Alice Jones-Rao, Autumn Kahrig, Summer Kahrig, Branston Burkhart, Hudson Burkhart and Crew Burkhart; and several nieces and nephews.
Faye is preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Leslie and Dale Burson; and a grandson Jason Davis.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm. Her service will be on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11 am with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.
