Francis J. Markley, age 95 of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Meridian of Cambridge. He was born on October 10, 1919 in Clarksburg, WV., a son of the late Francis McKinley Markley and Loeta LoRee (Seybert) Markley.
Mr. Markley was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Cambridge. He and his brother David, were the owner / operators of Markley's Services in Cambridge for 36 years. He was a 63 year member of the Cambridge Lion's Club with over 57 years of perfect attendance. He enjoyed woodworking, researching ancestry and trying to master his computer. He faithfully visited his wife Eileen every day for 9 years as she was cared for at Victorian Oaks.
Francis is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Eileen I. (Ford) Markley; a brother James A. (Donna) Markley; three sisters, Marjorie LoRee White, Betty Jane (John) Meeks and Janet Elaine (Jack) Spencer; and a brother-in-law Donald McKim.
He is survived by: a daughter Connie LoRee Staples of Cambridge; two sons, William F. (Charlotte) Markley of Byesville, and Phillip J. (Ellen) Markley of Canton, MI.; a sister Marilyn McKim of Cambridge; a brother David (Mary) Markley Cambridge; four grandchildren, Jamie Markley, Lisa Markley, Jason (Kendra) Markley and Katie (Bill) Dalen; five great grandchildren, Courtney, Ian, Kaylee, Riley and Kaiya; a brother-in-law David White; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Bundy-Law Funeral Home from 4 to 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 1025 Steubenville Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio 43725 at 1 pm. Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Rev. Rob Morris and Deacon Bob Howell will officiate the service with burial to follow in Northwood Cemetery.
