Frank W. "Bill" Ross, age 95 of Cambridge, passed away on Monday January 16, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on July 29, 1927 in Washington, PA, a son of the late Victor Gaylord Ross and Mary (Groves) Ross.
Mr. Ross was a graduate of Washington High School. He then joined the U.S.Navy and served in World War II and also in the Korean War. He went to work as a sporting goods manager at Sears and Roebuck for several years before starting his career at U.S. Steel in Steubenville. He worked there as a general foreman until closing then worked for Williams and Company in Cambridge until retirement. He was Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, little league and Babe Ruth coach. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and on the board of trustees. He was a avid supporter of Cambridge Bobcat Athletics and was one of the first 3 inductees into the Bobcat Fan of the Year Club in 2017. He was also a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Bill is preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife Charmaine (Herrod) Ross and second wife Martha A. (Salmans) Ross; and a sister Joanne Ross.
He is survived by: sons, Barry (& Judy) Ross of Cambridge and Bill Ross of Forney, Texas; grandchildren, Trevor (& Meredith) Ross, Dustin (& Kate) Ross, Adam (& Michelle) Ross and Brent(& Claire) Ross; eight great grandchildren; a sister Betsy Ross; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 1 to 4 pm. Services will begin at 11 am on Monday, January 23 at with Pastor Jon Lobos officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
