Gregory “Greg” William Sylvis, age 64, of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

Greg was a 1980 graduate of Cambridge High School. He and his wife were the proud owners of Bubby’s Drive Thru in Byesville, recently celebrating 30 years in business. He was a former member of the Elks and the Byesville V.F.W.

A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and passionate racing enthusiast, from dirt track to NASCAR, Greg found joy in his hobbies, his customers, and the people he loved. He enjoyed collecting antiques and figurines and spending time in his man cave, where friends and family were always welcome. Greg was larger than life, with a big heart and a personality that made him impossible to forget. He loved talking with his customers, sharing stories, and making everyone who came through the store feel at home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Greg is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julia A. (Schick) Sylvis; their children, Joe (Sammi) Sylvis and Kelly Sylvis; his grandchildren, Emmalyn and Ripley; his mother, Mitzi Sylvis; his father-in-law, Dave (Dee) Schick; his mother-in-law, Sue Armbruster; siblings, Chuck (Lynn) Sylvis, Cathy McBride, Jimmy (Debby) Sylvis and Kim (Terence) Jackson; brothers-in-law, Frank (Rachael) Schick, Dave Schick Jr, many nieces and nephews; and Bubby’s number one employee, their Maltese, Timmy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Sylvis; his father-in-law, Paul Armbruster; and brother-in-law, Tim McBride.
