Obituary

H. Dwayne Ross, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his home after a battle with cancer.
He was born August 2, 1933, a son of the late Harper and Irene (Huff) Ross. He lived most of his life on the family farm near Bloomfield, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers-in-law, John Mathers, George Balogh, and Robert Shirer, his mother and father-in-law, Alpha and John W. Oliver.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan (Oliver) Ross, children, Julie (Mark) Blackstone, John (Sherry Cross) Ross and Joy (Steve) Lucas. He is also survived by grandchildren, Laura (Daniel) Kreitler, Jared Ross, Cory (Amy) Largent, and Amelia Lucas, along with four great-grandchildren. Three sisters also survive, Nancy (Roger) Pattison, Janice Mathers, and Linda Shirer and their families.
He was a 1951 graduate of New Concord High School. After graduation, he was a semi truck driver, and later, a lineman for Guernsey Muskingum Electric. He served two years in the Army, stationed at Fort Knox, KY. In 1967 he became owner of Ross Equipment, Cambridge and was in business for 35 years.
He was a lifelong member of Bloomfield Presbyterian Church. He also enjoyed membership in the Buckeye Allis Club.
There will be a Open House, honoring Dwayne on Sunday April 21, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church 5650 Cambridge Road New Concord, Ohio.
