Homer F. Hayes, age 96 of Coshocton, OH, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Altercare in Coshocton. He was born in Coshocton County on April 4, 1927, a son of the late Carroll Mastin Hayes and Nettie V. (Moody) Hayes.
Mr. Hayes graduated from West Lafayette High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the end of World War II. He owned and operated a thriving computer business, Ohmega Computer Services, for nearly four decades.
Homer is preceded in death by his first wife, Olive Ruth (Art) Hayes; his parents; daughters, Darlene Kay Hayes, Patricia Ann Kennedy, and Kathryn Jean Bayer; grandson Jay Phillips; his sisters, Florence Edith (Hayes) Easterday, Leota Viola (Hayes) Postel, Lois Mary (Hayes) Patterson, Mabel Virginia (Hayes) Pollock, and Lena (Hayes) Hamersley; his brothers, Preston John Hayes, Fred Austin Hayes, Jack Millard Hayes, Claude Robert Hayes and Howard Mastin Hayes;
He is survived by his second wife Shirley Crowe - Hayes of Xenia and a daughter, Susan Hayes. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tim (Kaitlyn) Kennedy, Kate (Matt) Kennedy, Andrea (Matt) Phillips, Lauren (Moe) Phillips, and Sean (Laura) Hayes, and his many great grandchildren: Nathan, Owen, and Caroline; Bridget, Eleanor, and Sterling; Jude, Evan, Kira, Aden, and Lila; Rose; and Maisie and Finley. He is also survived by Shirley's four sons, Dennis (Vicki) Crowe, Donald Crowe, Douglas Crowe and Darren Crowe; and many nieces and nephews.
Homer played in the family band, the Dixie Harmonaires, and was known for his harmonious whistling skills. Homer was a passionate, humorous, family-oriented, and caring man who will be missed. He was surrounded by love and care later in life by several close family members, Becky Beiter and Dan Hayes.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 11 am to 12 pm with services to begin at 12 pm. Rev.
