Obituary

Jack A. Bogart, age 84 of Cambridge, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008, at The Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. He was born January 2, 1924, in Columbus Grove, OH. Jack worked 42 years as quality control in the plastic industry, working at various companies including Phillips Products, Plastic Compounders and retiring from the Fabri-Form Co.
He was a graduate of Cambridge High School; a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church; a W.W. II Army Veteran, serving in the 44th Division 157th Field Artillery as a Forward Observer in The European Theater for 1 1/2 years where he received 4 Battle Stars and a Silver Star for gallantry in action; a 50 year member of Guernsey Lodge #66 F & AM, the Alladin Shrine, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, earning the Meritorious Service award; a member of the Kambri Shrine Club; a life member of VFW Post 2901; and a life member BPO #448 Elks Club. He was a member of Wheelin Sportsman, National Wild Turkey Federation and also a life time member of Guernsey County Sportsman for Conservation.
Mr. Bogart is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence L. Bogart and Bertha E. Gettman Bogart; an infant brother Donald Bogart and a sister Evelyn Knisely.
Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Bogart whom he married in 1947; 2 sons, Jack Sharon Bogart of New Concord, OH. and William B. Kathleen Bogart of Cambridge, OH.; 2 daughters, Shirley B. Dan Howard of Cambridge, OH., and Laura B.Brent Barnett of Byesville, OH.; 5 grandchildren, Heather John Garner, Jennifer Scott Eubanks, Jackie Tim Matheney, William Brad Bogart, and Elizabeth Marie Hunter; 8 great-grandchildren, William Jason Bogart, Jack & Evan Garner, Mitch, Molly & Bella Eubanks, Wyatt & Estelle Matheney; sister-in-laws, Patricia Custer of Cleveland, OH.; Judy Bennett of Cambridge, OH.; numerous nieces and nephews and many fraternal friends.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday, August 11, 2008, at Bundy-Law Funeral Home with Guernsey Lodge #66 F & AM holding Masonic Services at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Spain and Rev. Oscar Brown officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Guernsey County Veteran's Council.
