James B. Burris age 72 of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark. He was born in Cambridge on May 28, 1953, a son of the late Leo M Burris and Dorothy L. (Feaster) Burris.
Mr. Burris was a graduate of Zane Trace High School. He had worked as a maintenance foreman for the Cambridge City Schools. Jim was a member of the Cambridge Eagles. In his younger years he enjoyed being a Boy Scout Master and more recently he enjoyed restoring his bronco and tinkering in his garage. He loved spending time with his family and helping out with the grandkids.
Jim leaves: his wife of 47 years, Deborah E. (Schimmel) Burris; a son Travis (& Mallory) Burris, a daughter Sarah (& James) King; two grandchildren, Elizabeth "Izzy" DeLong and Kyle DeLong; a brother Jerry Lee (& Rose) Burris; and many nieces, nephews and life long friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; a brother Larry G. Burris; and two infant sisters.
