James F. Canter, age 82 of Cambridge, Ohio passed away on Saturday October 5, 2024 at Ohio Health/ Southeastern Medical Center. He was born on July 9, 1942 in Wellston, Ohio to the late James W. Canter and Frances (Riggle) Clark. He is also preceded in death by his wife Cordella (Browning) Canter who passed away on October 13, 2012, a sister Rosaleta Stanley, and 3 brothers Anthony "Tony" Canter, Vernon "Tinker" Clark, and William "Red" Smith. Jimmy was a member of the Eagles 386, VFW., and the Moose. He retired from Painters Local 1275. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, poker, making his rounds & getting on the books. He loved teaching his grandchildren skills they will use for the rest of their lives. He was a selfless compassionate man who would do anything for his family and friends, and always the first one to step up and help out. He couldn't wait to be reunited with his wife, Cordy. Jimmy is survived by his 2 daughters Tammy (Ron) Roth of Columbus, Ohio and Robin (Dave) Ancell of Cambridge, Ohio, a son Gary (Debbie) Canter of Canal Winchester, Ohio, 6 grandchildren Taylor Canter, Carson (Bri) Tedder, Makenzie Tedder, Jenna (Caden) Brown, Jake Canter, and Kyle Ancell, 3 great grandchildren Ryker, Gracelyn, and Weston, 2 brothers Marty Canter of Columbus, Ohio, and Issac Smith of Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday October 8, 2024 at Bundy-Law Funeral Home with funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday October 9, 2024 at the funeral home with Mark Wilson a nephew officiating.
