James S. Olden, age 82 of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Embassy with his wife by his side. He was born on December 19, 1940 in Cambridge, a son of the late Everett W. Olden and Mary Elizabeth (Lawrence) Olden.
Mr. Olden was a 1960 graduate of Cambridge High School. He was a member of the Eagles in Cambridge and a lifetime member of the Cambridge V.F.W. Auxiliary and Cambridge Moose. James obtained the highest degree he could earn in 2009 with the Moose as a Pilgrim. He was a wallpaper hanger and also drove taxi for the Amish.
James is survived by his wife of 40 years, Annabelle (Schlosser) Olden; children, Judith Kay Olden of Cambridge, Kathy Enochs of Cambridge and John Scott Olden of North Carolina; a step daughter Jeri Lynn (Shawn) Tanner of Cambridge; step son Jeffrey Treherne of Byesville; a sister Marjorie Olden Province of Byesville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: two sisters, Evelyn Olden and Nettie Love; and three brothers, Carl, Roy and Don Olden.
