Janice Y. Hughes, age 71 of Cambridge, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 22, 1938 in North Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter Earl Durbin and Katherine Knight Matthews of North Salem.
Mrs. Hughes was a retired Managing Cook at Cambridge City Schools Park Elementary, and was currently employed at Cambridge Glass Museum. She was a member of: Unity Presbyterian Church; a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2901 Ladies Aux.; the N.C.C.; and the Red Hatters of Cambridge.
Janice is survived by: her husband, Larry Hughes of the home, they were married on December 26, 1955; her mother, Katherine Knight Matthews of North Salem; a daughter, Julia A. John Gersper of Parkersburg, W.VA.; a son David B. Amy Hughes of Zanesville; a sister Shirley Charlie Hanes of North Salem; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, Madison, Tyler, Jacob and Abigail; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 5 to 8pm. The service will be on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11:00am with Rev. Eldon Trubee and Rev. Jim Spain officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery.
