Jerry Poe Gordon, 81, of Cambridge, OH passed away Sunday September 4, 2022. He was born June 29, 1941 in Bannock OH, son of the late Joseph Andrew Gordon and Louise Poe Gordon.
Jerry was a proud retired Trooper from Cambridge Post, where he worked as a Trooper and then as a plain cloths investigator for many years. He was on the Governor's Detail and protected the Governors from Governor Rhodes and all proceeding until his retirement in 1990.
Jerry was a member of The First Christian Church. He loved to sing and was a long time member of Cambridge Singers, a member of the Sons of the Father Quartet. A member of Guernsey Lodge 66 F & AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge. Jerry was a member of The Cambridge Lions Club. Jerry loved to golf in Cambridge and in the winters in FL with many great friends.
Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gayla Gordon. Daughter, Kristi (Bob) Achauer. Two grand daughters, Hannah (Brett Miller) Achauer and Katie (Shaun) Achauer Montgomery. One great grandson, Greyson Achauer Montgomery.
Along with his parents Jerry is preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Gordon and one grand daughter, Abby Achauer.
