Joan M. Fitch, age 79 of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at her home. She was born on April 19, 1945 in Cambridge, a daughter of the late John W. Voorhies and Anna M. (Swank) Voorhies.
Mrs. Fitch had worked at S.S. Kresges and at Nickles Thrift Store and was the neighborhood mom.
Joan loved the outdoors. She enjoyed working on her flowers, mowing grass and working in her garden. She was very fond of her cats and dogs as well. She was always concerned about the family and asking about her granddaughter and great grandchildren.
Joan is survived by: her husband of 61 years, Edward W. Fitch; a son Ronald E. Fitch (& Kim McMillen); a daughter Kristine K. Fitch; one granddaughter Katie M. (& Mark) Schultiecz; two great grandchildren, Roghen and Brooklyn; four siblings Richard (& Darlene) Voorhies, Mary (& Dave) Jakubisin, Alice (& Vern) Owens and John (& Cindy) Voorhies; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 4 pm to 6 pm with her service beginning at 6 pm. Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh will officiate with burial at a later date in Old Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey or to Guernsey County Animal Shelter.
