John C. Pachuta, age 98, of Cambridge, OH passed away Monday August 8, 2022 at his home. He was born August 13, 1923 to the late Michael Pachuta and Anna Pavlik Pachuta in Lore City, OH. John was retired from The Ohio State Highway Patrol after 26 years of service. After retirement he worked at Detroit Diesel for an additional 10 years before officially retiring. John was a member of The SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Lore City, OH. A Life Member of The Kipling VFW. He enjoyed playing Horseshoes and in 1990 he won 1st Place at O. R. Mehaffey Horseshoe Pitch Tournament. His favorite past time was playing the harmonica for family and friends and teaching his great grandchildren to play.
Along with his parents John is preceded in death by his wife Elsie E. Pachuta who passed away April 25, 2000. They were married on May 12, 1956. One brother, Michael Pachuta. Four sisters: Mary Davala, Anna Kalafa, Helen Schuetz, Nellie Bodner.
Surviving are three daughters: Christine (Rick) Veselenak of Cambridge, OH, Mary (Rufus) Pachuta-Willis of Strongsville, OH, Margie Pachuta of Blacklick, OH. One son, John J. Pachuta, Friday Harbor, WA. One sister, Margie Flannick of Cleveland, OH. Two granddaughters, Nicole (Jacob) Caslow of Byesville, OH and Jessie Anna Pachuta of WA. Two great grandchildren, Olivia Anne Caslow and Lucas John William Caslow. John is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and many friends.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 7 pm with Vigil Service at 7:00pm at Bundy-Law Funeral Home. Friends may call again Saturday from 10:30 am till 12 noon at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Lore City. The Funeral Service will be 12 noon Saturday at The Church with Father Paul Hrezo and Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial to follow in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by The Guernsey County Veterans Council.
