John R. Polascak, age 82 of Kipling, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Ohio Health Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. He had fought a long battle with MDS. He was born in Guernsey County on October 7, 1943, a son of the late Joseph W. Polascak and Susan (Fadorson) Polascak.
Mr. Polascak was a 1961 graduate of St. Benedict Catholic High School. He was a machinist by trade and had worked at Maley in Caldwell for many years as a tool and die maker. John was an avid outdoors-man and loved trapping and hunting and previously served as the president of the Ohio Trappers Association. He was a coin enthusiast. He collected vintage coins and was a wealth of knowledge on gold and silver.
John is survived by: a daughter Karen Polascak; a son John J. Polascak; and a granddaughter Kayla.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, a sister Barbara Donley, and a brother Joseph W. Polascak Jr.
Private services took place at Bundy-Law Funeral Home officiated by Father Nicholas Ginetti. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. John's online guest book may be viewed and signed at
