Obituary

Karen Irene Froment, was born in Cambridge, OH on October 8, 1946 to the late John McManaway and Gladys (Wallace) McManaway. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on February 9, 2026 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville, OH. Karen married the love of her life, Mark Emil Froment, on June 2, 1984. The two enjoyed 42 years together before her passing. Karen is also survived by her daughter, Molly Denver of Pittsburgh, PA; her son, Robert Denver Jr. of Portland, TX; two grandsons, Benjamin (Kasyria) Thayer of Pittsburgh, PA and William Thayer of Portland, OR; her sister, Susan (William) Slifko of Cambridge, OH; her half-sister, Jenny McManaway of Cambridge, OH; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve (Carlene) McManaway of Cambridge, OH.
Karen, known as "Sis" to friends and family, graduated from Byesville High School in 1964. She was among the first employees hired by Colgate-Palmolive when the company came to Cambridge in December, 1987. Due to her small frame, Karen surprised her coworkers when she began work as a forklift driver, then a wheel operator. She quickly earned the reputation for being tiny but mighty, especially as she enforced her strict "no cursing" policy.
As a lifelong Christian, Karen will be remembered for her boundless generosity, unparalleled kindness, and uncompromising loyalty to those she loved. She enjoyed spending time on the lake and traveling to casinos with Mark, and visits with Bob, Molly, and her grandchildren. Anyone who spent time with Karen saw this generosity, kindness, and loyalty reflected in her love of the holiday season; she was known for asking everyone for their Christmas lists months in advance. Karen valued, above all, to spend time with the people she cared for.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Silver Tower 5th Floor, in Columbus, OH; and especially the staff at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville, OH.
A celebration of Karen's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
