Kay Affolter, 65 of Lore City, passed away tragically on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at her home. A daughter of the late Jack and Patricia (Rowe) Johnson, she was born on September 25, 1957 in Akron. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Kris Johnson and Kelly Johnson; and a niece Ashlie Johnson.
She is survived by: her three daughters, Mindy Affolter, Jessica Affolter and Tracy Affolter; three grandchildren, Raelynn Affolter, Jayce Snowden, and Tyler Beatty; two sisters, Kim Johnson, and Kandy Johnson; six nieces; three nephews and many more extended family members.
Kay graduated from Buchtel High School in Akron. She had worked at the Lakeside Carryout near Saltfork for many years. She had also worked at the Restaurant and the Pot House in Winterset. Kay enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and horses. With her heart of gold, she was always there when someone needed her. Mom was one of the strongest woman I know.
