Laureen Rene Dakin, age 69 of Kimbolton, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born in Dennison, Ohio on April 24, 1956, a daughter of the late Carl R. Best and Eleanor L. (Scott) Best.
Laureen had worked as a Home Health Aide and previously as a cashier at the Duke Station in Newcomerstown. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching tractor pulls and shooting guns with her husband Roy.
Surviving are: her husband of 36 years, Roy W. Dakin; a son Scott (& Elizabeth) Lambert of Kimbolton; her siblings, Allen Lee of Midvale, Janet Lee of Youngstown; eight grandchildren, Lanay Lanham of Kimbolton, Austin Lanham of New Philadelphia, James, Gavin, Alexia and Olivia Lambert all of Columbus, Navaeh and Athena Floyd of Summerfield; three great grandchildren, Luann and Lola Lanham of Kimbolton and Scarlett Lanham of New Philadelphia; a brother-in-law Kevin (& Lisa) Dakin of Lore City; sister-in-law Melissa Thompson of Coshocton; her mother-in-law Arletta Courtright of Newcomerstown; a special cousin Mary Stacey of West Virginia; special nieces and nephews, Kody Dakin of Lore City, Karissa Johnston of Cleveland and Telse Woods of Dennison and Johnathon Thompson of Newcomerstown; and her faithful doggy Rocket.
Laureen was preceded in death by: preceded in death parents; a daughter Luann Lambert; her grandparents; and father-in-law.
