Lawrence Willard Acton, age 84 of Newark, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Embassy of Cambridge. He was born in Newark on September 21, 1938, a son of the late Harold Willard Acton and Gladys Elizabeth (Flenner) Acton.
Mr. Acton was a 1956 graduate of Newark High School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1956 to 1961. Lawrence had worked as a caretaker for Kirkersville Cemetery and was a basketball official for OHSAA for over 31 years. He was a member of the Licking County Genealogical Society. He enjoyed road trips, traveling, photography and tracing the family history.
Lawrence is survived by: his son Darby (& Mindy) Acton of Cambridge; a granddaughter Addy Acton; and a sister Geraldine Hardy of New Concord.
