Margaret D. Crapoff, age 80 of Lore, City, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Countryview Assisted Living Center. She was born in Monroe, Michigan on June 21, 1943, a daughter of the late John G. Ondrejko and Irma (Gaydos) Ondrejko.
Mrs. Crapoff was a 1961 graduate of St. Benedict's High School. She attended Good Samaritan Nursing School in Zanesville and then Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in Manitowoc, WI. Margaret was a member of Christ Our Light Parish in Cambridge. She was also a member of St. Peter's Church in Queenstown, MD. and sang in the Sweet Adeline Chorus, Harmony on the Bay. While in Queenstown, she founded the Piecemakers Prayer Shaw Ministry which is still very active today. She loved knitting and singing and was a member of Friendship VII Sweet Adelines Chorus.
Margaret is preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband Joe Stringer; her second husband Lenny Crapoff; and a brother and sister-in-law John G. (Carol) Ondrejko.
Surviving are: a daughter Sharon (Dennis) Gish of Hagerstown, MD, a son Tom (Jess) Stringer of Queenstown, MD; three step sons, Rick (Cherie) Crapeoff of Fairfax, VA, Brian (Lauren) Craypoff of Fairfax, VA and Jamie (Mallisa) Crapoff of Las Vegas, NV; a step-daughter Ashley (James) Geary of River Ridge, LA; fourteen grandchildren, one great grandson; sisters, Rita (Russ) Tucker of Lore City, Karen (John) Barton of Middletown, OH; a brother Rick (Jerri) Ondrejko of Leonard, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am Saturday, April 27, 2024 at St. Peter and Paul Parish in Lore City with Father Nicholas Ginnetti officiating. Private burial will take place after the Mass.
