Michael David Horner, age 49 of Ravenna, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Ravenna, March 12, 1976, a son of Harold Michael Horner of Ravenna and Linda Jean (Shaulis) Cowan of Cambridge.
Mikey was a graduate of Crestwood High School class of 1994. He worked for Giant Eagle in Ravenna for many years. He enjoyed R.C. cars and collecting Star Wars, four wheeling, paint balling, hiking and anything outdoors.
Mike is survived by his parents Linda Jean (& Jeff) Cowan of Cambridge, Harold Michael (& Marilyn Christy) Horner of Ravenna; son Kyle James Horner; bonus daughter Taylor Ann Butler; brother Matthew (& Becky) Horner of Ravenna, their children Jared and Carley; a sister Amy (& Brock) Reish of Ravenna; step siblings, Emily, Adrian, Monica and Jordan; his grandmother Betty Shaulis; his lifelong friend Mandy Butler; his foster brother Carl (& Tammy) Clark, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his faithful companion Echo, his service dog, who saved his life a few times.
He is preceded in death by: his grandparents Fred Paul Shaulis; and Mary Lou and Harold Ernest Horner.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Fresenius Kidney Care Streetsboro Kidney Center, or to the Portage Animal Protective League.
