Obituary

Mildred I. Vandergrift (Stashonsky) Peak, age 89 of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 17, 1930 in Fairmont, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Fay Vandergrift and Oma (Elison) Vandergrift.
Mrs. Peak was Methodist by faith. She worked as a merchandiser for American Source. She was a V.F.W. Gold Star Mother who loved gardening, crafting, reading and dancing. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Milderd is preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband Raymond Stashonsky; second husband Donald Peak; a son John Stashonsky; a brother Earl Vandergrift; a grandson John R. Stashonsky; and a sister Myrtle Wilson.
Surviving are: a son William R. (Sharon) Stashonsky of Cambridge; grandchildren, Julie Stashonsky, Cynthia (Matthew) O'Donnell, William M. (Joy) Stashonsky and Jessica L. (Brian) Peters; eight great grandchildren, Bailey Brown O'Donnell, Blake and Brock Stashonsky, Lexis O'Donnell, Josilyn Stashonsky, twins Ella Stashonsky and Mikenna Stashonsky and Paisley Neff; her siblings, Oma Ruth (Gregory) Wright of TN., Willa (Wendell) Phillips of TN., Valeria (Elvis) Hunt of TN, and a sister-in-law Barbara Vandergrift of TN.
Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm with a service following at 1 pm. Pastor Bill Jones will officiate with burial to follow in Northwood Cemetery. Please follow all covid guide lines.
